MLK-eve Discussion on Service
What:
As you may know, Martin Luther King Jr Day is this Monday, 18 January 2021. Penn observes this day as a university holiday and encourages all community members, including Harnwellians, to participate in a day of service and to consider the teachings and lessons of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the role we can all play in building a better future. MLK Day is also an important US national holiday. Frequently described as a day on instead of a day off, the celebration focuses on service to the community to recognize the life of Martin Luther King, Jr.
But what does “service” mean? What does it mean to “engage” with a community. There is not one definition and I would like to learn what your definition is. Please join me and other Harnwellians via zoom on MLK-eve in preparation for Monday.
