Irvine Auditorium Pipe Organ Tour - Please RSVP!

What:

Have you ever heard a 16' tuba? Or seen a 32' flute?  You've heard of the one-man band, so come check out this one-man orchestra!

On Thursday, February 22, at 3pm, in Irvine Auditorium, participants in this 'organ crawl' will have the opportunity to experience the 11th largest pipe organ in the world like never before!  Take a close-up look at the organ console in action, tour thousands of this organ's 10,731 pipes behind the scenes, and pass through an air lock to enter the organ's wind chest - the largest ever built by this particular organ company - all while the instrument is being played!

There is limited space, so sign up soon!  Participants should be prepared to climb a short ladder to reach some of the pipe chambers, so please dress comfortably and appropriately (e.g. sneakers and no skirts).

This is a rare opportunity, so seize the moment and join Andrew (your 2nd Floor GA) and University Vice Provost, Dr. Max King, on this adventure!
