What:

Description: While the United States makes up close to 5% of the global population, it has nearly 25% of the incarcerated population. Black men are six times as likely to be incarcerated as white men. Because mass incarceration has harmful, long-lasting health effects for those that incarcerated, as well as their families and communities, it is an important social determinant of health.
