January 20th: Trip to the Museum of the American Revolution!

What:

Do you love Hamilton? Do you want to see the room where it happened?

Did you expect to meet Nicholas Cage of National Treasure snooping around Philly looking for Uncle Ben Franklin's bifocals?

Well, here's your chance to score on both. The Museum of the American Revolution recently found the only picture of George Washington's Revolutionary tent-quarters, and the museum has recreated Washington's tent at its museum.

The New York times has profiled Washington's tent here and the museum generally here.  To summarize both, "The guiding design idea, [the museum's curator] Mr. Stephenson said, 'was creating a movie you can walk through, rather than a book we’re illustrating.'" (The museum has received excellent reviews.)

We'll be going to the museum Saturday, January 20th. Leaving at 12:30 pm and returning around 4 pm.

While not required viewing, we plan to arrive in time for a book talk at 1:30 pm. Arthur Lefkowitz who wrote Eyewitness Images of the Revolution will be speaking about the book's featured paintings.

The ticket cost is $5, including transportation. (Tickets are normally $17.)

Please email Drew Maliniak at maliniak@pennlaw.upenn.edu to reserve your ticket by Friday, January 12th at 3 pm
