House Infrastructure
The basic units of space in Harnwell are single, double, triple and quadruple residential apartments. There are an average of 15 apartments on each floor, housing a combined 33 residents. Our residential staff manages the House as follows:
Senior staff consists of Faculty Master Dr. Daniel Bogen, House Dean Dr. Suhnne Ahn, Faculty Fellows Dr. Kathleen Hall and Dr. Kent Bream, Associate Fellow Adele Fava, and House Coordinator Danielle Crumb Fike. These people are University faculty and staff who coordinate the advisors on the floors and keep Harnwell running smoothly.
RA for short. Undergraduate students selected for their unique qualifications, academic excellence, participation in University and community activities. They stand out in their interest in being leaders in the college house community and offering peer support to their residents.
GA for short. Like an RA but with some extras. The Gas are selected from a variety of graduate programs and as such they bring a slightly different perspective to the College House. Their advanced academic and professional backgrounds enable them to nurture academic and co-curricular interests in the House, with their programming often reflecting their own particular studies.
Each floor has an RA or GA. Their job is to help make your time here interesting, fun, educational, and safe. They will have weekly hours when you can stop by to talk about your life, classes, ask for advice about school and plan activities for your floor or for the House.
The Harnwell Senate is the the chief instrument of student governance in Harnwell College House. It is made up ofat least eight student representatives, one from each school and one from each class. A member of the senior staff will supervise weekly meetings of the Senate. Committees are formed to deal with specific areas of concern such as events, budget, and in-house courses. We hope you'll consider running for the senate!
These are student positions. We have a Facilities Manager, Events, Office, Finance, Communications, and two Computer Managers. Their responsibilities include hiring and supervising student staff, and running many aspects of the house.

You can roll out of bed in the morning and go to work in Harnwell House. In addition to the various positions that support the Harnwell's mission - on the computing and office/facilities staff - you can also work the front desk in the main lobby. Work study is preferred, but exceptions are made for exceptional candidates.
