International Program
(Floors 19 and 20)

Application: pdf | doc

The International Residential Program (IP) is located in Harnwell College House and is one of Penn's oldest residential programs for Penn undergraduates. The program is located on the 19th and 20th floors in Harnwell College House, where about 70 undergraduates live annually. The program aims to provide a living experience where residents have the opportunity to meet other Penn students who are international students, first generation Americans, and students interested in learning about other cultures and ways of living. The program aims to foster mutual respect and understanding across cultural groups, and facilitates this through numerous programs throughout the academic year. Programs include trips to ethnic restaurants in Philadelphia, theatrical and orchestral performances in the city, and in-house social programs where residents are encouraged to share an aspect of their culture and nationality with their peers. Many social, academic, and cultural programs are funded each year. Major events of the year can include trips to New York City or Washington D.C., an International Food Fest and Cultural Night. Suggestions for new or favorite events are always welcome from IP residents. IP would like to invite all international students interested in learning about other cultures to consider applying to the program.
